Product Overview
A large, plump bird from the North-East United States is now world known as Wyandotte. Originated in the 1800s, this was and still is one of the oldest all-purpose breeds. Early farmers raised Wyandotte as the most reliable bird for both meat and egg production. Wyandotte roosters can grow up to 9 lbs, and hens are fair layers with over 180 eggs annually. There’s rarely a farm in the United States that doesn’t have at least a couple of Wyandotte’s in their flock. Besides its practical value, this breed is also distinguished by its appearance. Lace color pattern on top of their primary color and rose comb gives them an impressive appearance amongst other poultry. Even though they can be kept in a small space, Wyandotte’s prefer free-range life. Valley Hatchery has different colors of Wyandotte chickens available: Black Laced Silver, Black Laced Gold, Black Laced Red, Blue Laced Red, Splash Laced Red, Columbian, and even a Bantam Black variety.
