Valley Hatchery is excited to offer Broad Breasted Bronze Turkeys, a large and robust breed that is well-suited for meat production. These docile birds are known for their excellent feed-to-meat conversion rate, making them a reliable choice for family farms. However, due to their large size, Broad Breasted Bronze Turkeys generally have poor reproduction rates and are often artificially inseminated in order to ensure good hatchability of their eggs.
Originating in North America and recognized by the American Poultry Association, Broad Breasted Bronze Turkeys have a natural lifespan that is shorter than heritage breeds due to their size. Male Broad Breasted Bronze Turkeys typically weigh 29lbs at 20 weeks old (with no weight guarantees), while females weigh around 21lbs. Despite their primary use for meat production, these birds do lay a very small number of large to extra-large off-white eggs each year.
If you’re looking to add some large and reliable birds to your farm for meat production, consider adding Broad Breasted Bronze Turkeys from Valley Hatchery to your flock.
