Ideal for beginners as well as families with children, the Easter Egger is full of fun and surprises. This hybrid breed got its name for its ability to lay green, pink, blue (most common), and brown eggs. Because of this, you will never know which color your chick will mature to have. This robust breed handles both hot and cold temperatures well and does amazing in small flocks. Their friendly nature allows you to be more hands-on which makes them amazing chickens as pets. You can expect 200 to 280 eggs annually from each hen. Fully matured, males will weigh an average of 6.5 pounds and females an average of 5.5 pounds. Typical with hybrids, Easter Eggers are not an APA-recognized breed. The lifespan of these birds is roughly 5 to 8 years on average. We at Valley Hatchery want to make your experience with buying baby chickens a good one. You can expect only the happiest and healthiest Easter Eggers from our chicken hatchery.
