Valley Hatchery is proud to offer the stunning Gold Duckwing Phoenix Chickens, a breed that is sure to add some flair to your flock. These chickens are a cross between the Silver Duckwing and Black Breasted Red Phoenix, and they showcase beautiful black and gold feathering. Originally hailing from Japan and Germany, this breed is well-known for its long tail and small, tinted eggs. In the breeding process for the golden color, a large percentage of silver often crops out, and the golden color does not breed true.
These birds are perfect for exhibition, with their impressive long feathers and active nature. Gold Duckwing Phoenix Chickens are known to lay 40-100 small, tinted eggs per year. Roosters generally weigh in at 5.5lbs, while hens tend to be around 4lbs. The Gold Duckwing Phoenix is recognized by the American Poultry Association (APA) and is shown in the All Other Standard Breed-Oriental Class. These chickens are also known for their tendency to go broody. Add some unique beauty to your flock with these amazing Gold Duckwing Phoenix Chickens from Valley Hatchery.
