Valley Hatchery is pleased to offer Narragansett Turkeys, a breed known for their distinctive plumage with black, gray, tan, and white feathers. While they resemble Bronze turkeys, Narragansetts have gray or dull black feathers in place of the coppery coloring of Bronze turkeys. With a black beard, horn-colored beak, and mostly featherless head and neck that can range in color from red to blueish white, Narragansett Turkeys are truly a sight to behold.
Narragansett Turkeys are primarily used for exhibition and meat/egg production. They are an active breed and lay relatively few eggs per year, but these eggs tend to be large to extra-large and off-white in color. Toms of this breed generally weigh 23lbs, while hens weigh 14lbs. Narragansett Turkeys are native to North America and are recognized by the APA. In addition to their excellent production qualities, these birds are also prized for their calm disposition and good maternal abilities. They mature early and have excellent quality meat. Keep in mind that Narragansett Turkeys may be prone to going broody. At Valley Hatchery, we are committed to providing high-quality Narragansett Turkeys that are perfect for a variety of purposes.
