With 18 different varieties and counting, the Wyandotte breed has become a backyard favorite for beginner chicken keepers and pros alike. The Splash Laced Red Wyandotte has one of the more contrasted feather coats of the breed. A mix of red, brown, and white with lacing gives these birds a very unique look that varies among the breed. Relatively calm and docile, this friendly breed is great for growing families with children and other pets. With a thick body and dense feather coat, they make great birds for colder climates. Each hen should be expected to produce 180 to 260 medium brown eggs per year. Roosters will reach full maturity and be roughly 8.5 pounds and the hens will weigh around 6.5 pounds. The Splash Laced Red Wyandotte is not an APA-recognized breed. With proper care, these birds can live up to 12 years but average anywhere between 6 to 12. Our chicken hatchery takes pride in our baby poultry. Valley Hatchery ensures all baby chicks for sale are happy, healthy, and ready for their new home.
