Description

Valley Hatchery’s White Layer Ducklings are a specialized breed, developed to meet the demand for a high-yielding white egg layer. Particularly appealing for the production of balut, a delicacy in Southeast Asian cuisine, these ducks lay large white eggs with lighter embryos. Producing 200-290 eggs annually, White Layers are calm birds, similar to the Buff, Cayuga, and Blue Swedish. An alternative to the prolific Khaki Campbell, they start laying at 5-6 months, with a slight annual production drop. As a hybrid, their progeny remain consistent in color, hatching yellow and maturing into pure white with orange feet and bills. Ideal for backyard egg operations, they offer a high egg yield with a lower incidence of blue or green eggs compared to Golden Hybrids.
